Education and Experience Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics or Agricultural Economics or equivalent related experience in agricultural credit analysis; 10 years of proven commercial credit analysis experience with 5 years in a supervisory/management capacity is required. Credit analysis experience in originating, coordinating and negotiating sensitive and complex business transactions for both long- and short-term credit loans with an emphasis in credit extension, administration and related lending activities is preferred. Strong and effective communication skills are essential.

Job Scope

Directs the activities of the association’s credit division and commercial credit portfolio. Responsible for loan approval process, credit policies and procedures, security documentation, credit information and risk management. Responsible for compliance with credit policies and procedures, credit delivery systems, loan accounting, reporting related to credit activities, portfolio performance and compliance with regulations and law applicable to credit delivery. Relies on extensive experience and judgment while working with the CEO to plan and accomplish goals and objectives. This individual must have a broad-based knowledge of credit and credit administration practices, Farm Credit Administration regulations, marketing, and fiscal operations with emphasis on the management processes that guide and control these functions. Established network of industry contacts is essential. The CCO must possess excellent time management skills, coaching and mentoring skills, good oral and written communication skills, skills in building customer relationships, strategic marketing skills and be solution-oriented.
